Oak Essentials Targets Hand Aging with New Serum
Hands often reveal a person's age before their face, a reality that prompted Jenni Kayne to expand her Oak Essentials line. On October 1, the brand introduced its Antioxidant Hand Serum, a $38 treatment designed to bridge the gap between basic hydration and clinical-grade, anti-aging facial skincare.
The new serum centers on Grapevine Stem Cells, a potent source of Resveratrol, which the brand positions as a 'longevity molecule' to combat dark spots and fine lines. Unlike traditional heavy creams, the formula features a fast-absorbing consistency intended to layer seamlessly under SPF or moisturizer without leaving a tacky residue. According to CEO Lauren Harris, the product aims to provide the same results-driven care typically reserved for facial regimens.
Beyond the primary grapevine extract, the 96% natural formula incorporates Rosehip Oil, Bamboo Juice, and a biotech blend of Hollyhock and Lingonberry Stem Cells. These components are designed to reinforce the skin barrier and improve elasticity while protecting against environmental stressors like pollution and UV exposure. The serum is finished with the brand's signature Cashmere Musk scent, featuring notes of lavender and vetiver. Kim Price, COO and Head of Product Development, noted that the team intentionally avoided creating a 'dressed-up lotion,' focusing instead on serum-grade ingredients to ensure the product addresses dehydration and loss of firmness effectively. The 1.7-ounce bottle is currently available through the company’s website.
