FyterTech Nonwovens Marks Three Decades in Sorbent Industry
Thirty years ago, Andrew Hetzel Jr. started with five employees and a single plant in Green Bay. Today, the De Pere-based manufacturer operates as a global force, supplying fluid management solutions and sorbent products across six continents while navigating the complexities of a vertically integrated supply chain.

Founded in October 1996, the company has evolved from a local operation into an industry leader under the Spilfyter brand. Its catalog now spans absorbent pads, spill kits, and specialized neutralizers, serving industrial, medical, and environmental sectors in over 60 countries. Chairman Andrew Hetzel Jr. attributes this longevity to the rigorous standards set by early customers and the consistency of the workforce.
CEO Matt Wild views this anniversary as a bridge to further expansion. The company intends to leverage its existing manufacturing scale to deepen its reach, focusing on product innovation and operational responsiveness. By maintaining its status as a vertically integrated manufacturer, FyterTech aims to sustain its market position as it transitions into its fourth decade of operations.
