Neotech Products Acquires Pediatric Navel Cradle Hernia Strap

After watching her own son face a potential surgical procedure for an umbilical hernia, physical therapist Cathlyn Corrado developed a non-invasive adhesive strap to support abdominal muscles. Neotech Products announced today that it has acquired the Navel Cradle, bringing the device into its portfolio of pediatric medical equipment.

The Navel Cradle functions by gently supporting the midline abdominal muscles, aiming to reduce intestinal protrusion without restricting a child’s breathing or mobility. Corrado, a board-certified pediatric physical therapist at the University of Rochester Medical Center, designed the strap to be placed diagonally, aligning with the internal and external obliques to encourage natural tissue approximation.

For Neotech, the acquisition marks a strategic expansion into the outpatient pediatric market. President Craig McCrary noted that the device offers a simple intervention for families looking to avoid invasive surgery. Corrado, who chose to partner with the company based on their shared philosophy of proactive, gentle care, will continue to see the product integrated into Neotech’s longstanding catalog of neonatal and respiratory supplies.
