KromAmericas Expands Industrial Combustion Reach With AFM Acquisition
Indianapolis-based KromAmericas has acquired Pearland, Texas-based American Flame Monitoring, marking its first major corporate expansion. The deal consolidates two specialized distributors, merging Kromschröder combustion technology with Honeywell’s industrial flame monitoring portfolio to provide a unified technical resource for OEMs and system integrators across the North American market.

The integration brings together businesses founded in the early 2020s that share a focus on local inventory and technical support. KromAmericas, which has acted as the North American Master Distributor for Kromschröder since 2020, will now incorporate the Honeywell-focused offerings previously managed by AFM. This includes a technical suite of flame detectors, signal processors, and igniters that complement the company's existing valve train assemblies and control systems.
General Manager Chris Gordon stated that the acquisition aligns two organizations with identical priorities regarding product availability and specialized customer service. Following the transition, AFM’s operations will shift to the Indianapolis distribution hub. KromAmericas plans to update its digital infrastructure to house the expanded portfolio, with new technical resources and product documentation expected to roll out in the coming months.
