Nishane Plants Its Flag in Nolita with First U.S. Boutique
After establishing a footprint in London, Istanbul-based perfumery Nishane has planted its first permanent American home at 239 Elizabeth Street in Manhattan. The Nolita boutique, which officially opened its doors on October 1, marks a strategic shift from online distribution to a high-touch, physical presence in the U.S. market.

The choice of Elizabeth Street reflects the brand’s focus on intimacy and discovery. Founders Mert Güzel and Murat Katran noted that the neighborhood’s quiet, independent spirit aligns with their philosophy that luxury is an act of personal expression. The interior design bridges the gap between their Istanbul roots and New York’s aesthetic, utilizing reflective stainless-steel surfaces alongside deep green tiles that echo traditional Turkish architecture.
At the center of the space, a digital display table serves as an interactive hub where visitors can explore the brand’s narratives and fragrance universes. Beyond the retail floor, the location functions as a base for private consultations and upcoming events, including a formal launch party scheduled for November 5. This expansion follows a period of rapid growth for the House of Extraits, which has transitioned from a cult niche following to a significant player in the American luxury landscape through partnerships with retailers like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
