PSEG Report Details Path to Carbon Reduction and Grid Reliability
A 95% reduction in operational greenhouse gas emissions against 2005 levels anchors PSEG’s 2026 Sustainability Report, released today. The Newark-based utility claims these environmental gains coincide with significant infrastructure investments and a billion-dollar annual savings for customers participating in the company's energy efficiency programs.

The report outlines a dual focus on environmental stewardship and grid performance. PSEG chair and CEO Ralph LaRossa noted the company balances long-standing service commitments with the evolving demands of modern energy needs. Central to this strategy are the Salem County nuclear plants, which currently provide 40% of New Jersey’s total energy and 80% of the state's carbon-free power.
Operational metrics show that the utility recycled over 91% of its waste in 2025 while funneling $2.4 billion into New Jersey-based businesses. Beyond infrastructure, PSEG’s community engagement reached $12.8 million in total giving last year. These results follow a strong performance in customer satisfaction, with PSE&G securing the JD Power award for residential electric service in the East Region for the fourth consecutive year.
