Nacon Revolution 5 Unlimited Brings Audio Mixing and OLED Control
Nacon has unveiled the Revolution 5 Unlimited, a premium PlayStation 5 controller featuring an integrated OLED screen that allows players to adjust hardware settings and mix audio sources simultaneously. By connecting headphones directly to the gamepad, users can balance game sound with external music streamed from their mobile devices.
Available for preorder at $229.99, the device marks a departure from standard Sony peripherals by adopting an asymmetrical thumbstick layout reminiscent of Xbox controllers. Nacon utilizes tunneling magnetoresistance technology for the sticks, which are designed to combat the common issue of joystick drift. The package includes swappable thumbstick heads and a modular D-pad, offering players a choice between a traditional four-way configuration or an eight-way design optimized for fighting game inputs.
Physical customization extends to the chassis itself, as the controller ships with 10, 14, and 16-gram weights that fit into the non-slip grips to alter the device’s balance. The triggers feature adjustable travel distances, allowing users to shorten the pull for faster response times in competitive shooters. These hardware tweaks, managed via the onboard display, position the Revolution 5 Unlimited as a direct competitor to high-end modular controllers currently on the market.
