Edelson Lechtzin LLP Probes Atlantic Digestive Specialists Data Breach
Patients of New Hampshire-based Atlantic Digestive Specialists are under investigation by class action law firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP following a significant data breach. The firm is evaluating potential legal claims for individuals whose sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised during an unauthorized network intrusion last spring.
The security incident occurred between March 16 and March 17, 2026, though the breach was only confirmed following a review that concluded in August. Atlantic Digestive Specialists, which operates clinics in Somersworth, Portsmouth, and Hampton, began notifying affected individuals on September 30. While the total number of victims remains unconfirmed, regulatory filings indicate at least 51 Rhode Island residents were among those impacted.
The exposed data set is extensive, including Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, financial account details, and detailed medical records such as diagnoses and insurance information. Marc Edelson of Edelson Lechtzin LLP is now leading a review to determine if a class action lawsuit is warranted to recover compensation for affected patients. The firm warns that those impacted face heightened risks of identity theft and financial fraud, urging individuals to monitor credit reports and medical explanation-of-benefits statements closely.
