Riyadh Prepares for Sixth Future Minerals Forum to Secure Global Supply

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Riyadh will host the sixth Future Minerals Forum from January 12–14, 2027. This iteration centers on the theme of "Global Collaboration for Resilient Mineral Supply," aiming to bridge critical funding gaps and accelerate production timelines across international mining sectors.

The forum serves as a pivot point for the "Super Region," a strategic corridor encompassing Africa, West and Central Asia, and Latin America. Organizers intend to move beyond ambition, focusing on mobilizing capital and shortening the path from exploration to extraction. The event will feature the high-level Ministerial Roundtable, alongside expanded "Gateway to Funding" sessions designed to pair investors directly with scalable projects and provide market insights through the Future Minerals Barometer.

This growth mirrors the rapid expansion of Saudi Arabia’s own industrial landscape. Exploration expenditure in the Kingdom surged from USD 54.7 million in 2020 to USD 362.7 million by 2025, while the number of active exploration companies climbed from six to 191. This momentum is further bolstered by recent discoveries at the Jabal Sayid Rare Earth Elements Project in the Madinah Region, where 114 million tons of ore—rich in heavy rare earth elements—have been identified. With a total of 398 agreements valued at over USD 75.2 billion signed across the first five editions, the forum remains the primary vehicle for aligning Saudi mining opportunities with international technology and financial expertise.
