FOCUS Learning Rebrands as FOCUS Performance Following P&RO Acquisition
Regulated industrial operators have long struggled to reconcile workforce qualification records with daily work schedules. By acquiring Pennsylvania-based P&RO Solutions, California’s FOCUS Learning is merging these silos, aiming to bridge the gap between who is certified to perform a task and who is actually assigned to do it.

The acquisition, which closed on July 31, 2026, marks a strategic evolution for the Monterey-based firm. While FOCUS has historically focused on training and qualification software like VISION and Qlarity—used extensively by nuclear operators and electric utilities—the addition of P&RO brings specialized work management tools into the fold. Specifically, P&RO’s flagship Planning and Scheduling Tool Assistant (PaSTA) integrates with enterprise systems such as SAP and IBM Maximo to manage workweek backlogs and asset reliability.
Following the merger, the company is adopting the brand name FOCUS Performance. CEO Jay Steele noted that the move reflects a broader mission to connect workforce readiness directly with operational execution. By combining P&RO’s scheduling expertise with existing training platforms, the company intends to help clients identify potential readiness constraints before they result in scheduling conflicts or operational downtime. Alexander Mears, managing partner at The Brydon Group, which backs the company, stated that the acquisition deepens their ability to serve customers across the entire workforce-performance lifecycle.
