Apex Dental Partners Delivers $290,000 in Free Care Across Three States
Over 250 volunteers across Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado provided $290,850 in pro bono dental services this year, marking a 35% increase in donated care. The Share A Smile Project initiative successfully treated 253 patients, completing 1,284 individual procedures through a network of seven regional clinical locations.

The 2026 results represent a major expansion for the program, which began four years ago with just 50 volunteers serving 60 patients. This year’s effort relied on a coalition of clinicians and administrative staff, alongside a dozen corporate sponsors who contributed the supplies and resources necessary to sustain the multi-state operation.
Dr. Layla Lohmann, co-founder and vice president of clinical excellence at Apex Dental Partners, noted that the initiative’s consistent growth mirrors the commitment of the dental teams involved. By focusing on underserved residents in markets including Dallas, Houston, Tulsa, and Lakewood, the organization aims to bridge the gap in oral healthcare access that persists in these communities. The project continues to operate through a collaborative model that leverages the infrastructure of private practices to deliver large-scale community support.
