Amazon Alexa Plus devices stuck in inexplicable singing loops
Users of Amazon Echo smart speakers are reporting a persistent and unsettling glitch that causes their devices to break into repetitive, nonsensical singing. The affected units have been observed chanting “lalala” for minutes on end, often interrupting household conversations without any external trigger or apparent cause from the speaker’s internal software.

The issue has gained traction on platforms like Reddit over the past few weeks, with owners sharing video evidence of their devices malfunctioning. Despite the bizarre nature of the audio loops, the smart assistant remains oblivious to the behavior; when users attempt to question the device about the singing, Alexa fails to acknowledge the glitch, acting as if the system is functioning normally.
Amazon has confirmed it is investigating the reports, characterizing the problem as a localized bug impacting a small subset of Alexa Plus users. A company spokesperson stated that engineers are currently developing a fix to restore standard operations to the affected hardware. Until the patch is deployed, the devices continue to spontaneously vocalize, leaving owners to contend with the erratic disruptions.
