Pimax Debuts Crystal Pro Wireless Headset with 60GHz Streaming
Pimax unveiled the Crystal Pro in San Jose, a high-end VR headset utilizing Native Foveated Streaming to bypass traditional Wi-Fi encoding. By leveraging a 60GHz 2x2 MIMO wireless link, the device transmits raw GPU output directly to the display, targeting latency below 2ms for a more responsive visual experience.

The Crystal Pro distinguishes itself through an eye-tracking system that directs high-fidelity imagery specifically to the user's focus area. The hardware features dual QLED panels with a resolution of 2880 x 2880 pixels per eye, a 110-degree field of view, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Power is supplied via an external 16,000mAh battery pack rather than an internal battery, while connectivity options include a dedicated Wi-Fi 6E adapter and an optional 60G AirLink kit for the high-bandwidth 6GHz wireless connection.
Alongside the headset, Pimax introduced its Ringless VR Controllers, which utilize a combination of camera-based hand tracking and infrared sensors to eliminate tracking rings. The company also announced the Spation, a compact desktop PC configured with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and either an AMD RX 9070 XT or Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU. The headset starts at $1,399, with the complete AirLink bundle priced at $1,899. Pimax is currently accepting $1 reservations for the hardware, with further details on shipping and accessory pricing pending.
