Amazon Discounts Previous-Generation Kindle Paperwhite Models

The Signature Edition of the last-gen Paperwhite is currently priced at $169.99, a sharp drop from its original $249.99 tag. This specific model includes 32GB of storage—double that of the base device—alongside wireless charging, an ambient light sensor, and the removal of lockscreen advertisements. These features often justify the higher price point for power users who manage large digital libraries.

For those seeking a more budget-friendly entry, the standard Paperwhite is available for $149.99, down from $199.99. However, this version requires compromises, specifically regarding storage capacity, the absence of wireless charging, and the inclusion of lockscreen ads. Despite the release of a newer model featuring a slightly thinner aluminum chassis and faster book-opening speeds, the core reading experience on these discounted units remains largely identical to current offerings.
