For the fifth year running, Hyattsville-based Home Genius Exteriors has secured the top spot on the Fortune Best Small and Medium Workplaces in Construction list. The firm also earned the number two position among all medium-sized companies nationwide, signaling a sustained commitment to staff development amid rapid national expansion.
The rankings, compiled by Great Place To Work and Fortune, involved an analysis of confidential survey data from 64,000 employees across the U.S. construction sector. Beyond its industry-specific recognition, the company placed 64th on the 2026 PEOPLE® Companies that Care list, highlighting its internal focus on culture and community involvement.
CEO Jeff Gunhus attributed the consistent recognition to the company’s workforce, noting that the priority remains creating an environment where employees feel empowered to grow. Central to this internal strategy is Home Genius Cares, an initiative that channels staff-led volunteerism and nonprofit partnerships into local community support. As the company expands its reach in roofing, siding, and insulation services, leadership continues to emphasize that financial and operational success stems directly from prioritizing the employee experience.
