Fibocom Launches MGB GNSS Module Series at India Mobile Congress 2026
At the India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi, Fibocom unveiled its MGB Series GNSS portfolio, a trio of positioning modules designed to address disparate IoT requirements. By scaling from entry-level single-frequency hardware to high-precision RTK-enabled systems, the company aims to capture a broader share of the expanding Indian IoT market.
The MGB180 and MGB280 modules serve the mainstream segment, supporting GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS constellations. The MGB180 prioritizes cost and low-power operation for basic tracking, while the MGB280 optimizes reacquisition speeds and cellular coexistence for telematics and fleet management. Both units feature 96 tracking channels and integrated AGNSS capabilities.
For high-stakes positioning, the MGB390 introduces dual-frequency GNSS with 180 tracking channels. The variant MGB390-AR achieves horizontal accuracy of 1 cm + 1 ppm via RTK technology, while the MGB390-A incorporates support for India’s regional NavIC satellite system to improve local signal reliability. Kony Li, General Manager of Fibocom’s MTC Business Unit, noted that these solutions are designed to support local developers through the full lifecycle from prototyping to mass deployment. All three modules are currently in production and available for integration into commercial IoT devices.
