WEKA Federal Gains Awardable Status in Tradewinds Marketplace
The U.S. Department of War has designated WEKA Federal an "Awardable" vendor, granting mission owners a streamlined path to procure the company’s NeuralMesh software. The move bypasses lengthy technical evaluations, allowing the military to integrate AI infrastructure designed to maximize GPU output while reducing energy and data center footprints.

Operating under the Chief Digital Artificial Intelligence Office, the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace serves as a digital repository for pre-vetted technologies. By earning this status, WEKA’s platform is now eligible for rapid acquisition, a shift that aims to accelerate AI deployment in production environments without the need for additional physical infrastructure. Brian Froeling, a board member of WEKA Federal, noted that the designation eliminates procurement delays, allowing agencies to deploy the software immediately to address mission-critical data bottlenecks.
NeuralMesh functions by unifying high-performance storage with extended GPU memory, enabling AI training and inference across accredited data centers and air-gapped environments. The platform allows for the movement of applications between cloud and on-premise stacks without requiring code rewrites. According to company specifications, the system can reduce infrastructure footprints by up to 8x and power consumption by 6x compared to traditional scale-out architectures, while simultaneously compressing model training times by up to 20x.
