Alphabet Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Gemini 3.5 Pro Launch Delays
Investors have until December 1, 2026, to file for lead plaintiff status in a securities class action against Alphabet Inc., following allegations that the company misled shareholders regarding the launch timeline and development progress of its flagship Gemini 3.5 Pro AI model.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, centers on a window between May 19 and July 16, 2026. During this period, management repeatedly assured the market that the Gemini 3.5 Pro model would debut in June. However, a July 16 Bloomberg report revealed the project was months behind schedule, noting that recent training data updates had yielded disappointing results. Following this disclosure, Alphabet’s Class A and Class C shares dropped approximately 4.4%.
Plaintiffs contend that Alphabet failed to disclose these technical setbacks, rendering their public growth projections misleading. While Alphabet later confirmed the model was in testing during a July 22 earnings call, it offered no specific release date, and subsequent reports indicated the company eventually abandoned plans for the 3.5 Pro release entirely. The litigation, led by Levi & Korsinsky, LLP, seeks recovery for investors who purchased securities at what they claim were artificially inflated prices during the class period.
