Capriotti’s Dedicates October 14 to The Bobbie

Fifty years after a family Thanksgiving leftover recipe transformed into a national menu staple, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is establishing October 14 as the first-ever Bobbie Day. The nationwide celebration honors the sandwich’s origins, rewarding loyal customers with exclusive deals and the temporary return of a signature side of gravy.

The promotion invites Capriotti’s Rewards members to purchase one turkey sub and receive a second for 50% off throughout the day. To mark the milestone, the first 100 customers at participating locations who make a purchase will receive a limited-edition sticker. Beyond the discounts, the chain is reintroducing its gravy as a side dish through the end of the year, intended for dipping the signature sandwich that features turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo.

Originating from the kitchen of Aunt Bobbie, the recipe was shared by the family after her passing to preserve her memory. CEO Ashley Morris maintains that while competitors have attempted to replicate the flavor profile, the chain’s commitment to slow-roasting whole Butterball turkeys in-house distinguishes the product. Kim Lewis, Chief Marketing and Technology Officer, noted that the day serves as a tribute to the customers who integrated the sandwich into their own holiday traditions over the past five decades.
