Reyes brings nearly three decades of executive experience to the Golden, Colorado-based organization. His career includes senior leadership roles at the Knights of Columbus, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Archdiocese of Denver, alongside his tenure as a co-founder of the Augustine Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in European history from the University of Notre Dame and previously served as Vice President of Ministry and Formation at FOCUS, providing him with an intimate understanding of the apostolate’s internal culture and mission.

William Mumma, chairman of the FOCUS Board of Directors, noted that the board sought a candidate who balanced professional executive experience with a proven history of working directly with the organization’s missionaries. The selection follows a search process that began in December 2025. Founder Curtis Martin, who launched the organization in 1998, will continue his work with the board, focusing on advocacy for the New Evangelization. Archbishop Emeritus Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia praised the appointment, citing Reyes’ character and long-standing familiarity with the founder’s original vision.
