The partnership leverages NESR’s LiThara™ platform, which integrates pre-treatment, direct lithium extraction, and carbonation into a single modular process. By combining Aramco’s extensive subsurface data with this proprietary technology, the project seeks to condition brine feedstock efficiently while maintaining competitive operating costs. The contract, valued at approximately $200 million over five years, marks a strategic entry for the kingdom into the global energy transition market.

This project will utilize NESR’s regional field expertise to scale production rapidly. By deploying these modular solutions, the companies intend to address the surging global demand for lithium, a critical component for electric vehicle batteries and grid-scale storage. The initiative represents the first large-scale application of this extraction technology within the region, positioning Saudi Arabia as a potential supplier of high-purity lithium.
