American Contract Bridge League Launches BridgeBattle Card Game
A 52-card deck and a pouch of plastic jewels are the core of BridgeBattle, a new tabletop game designed to distill the complex mechanics of contract bridge into sub-minute rounds. Released this month by the American Contract Bridge League, the set aims to demystify trick-taking for casual players.

Developed by executive director Bronia Jenkins, the game bridges the gap between the rapid pacing of War and the tactical depth of traditional bridge. The physical box set, retailing for $25 on Etsy, includes a custom deck, player bags, and stickers, supporting four players in two-person partnerships. The objective is to secure at least seven of the 13 tricks in a hand to earn a jewel.
While the game functions as a standalone social activity, it serves a secondary purpose as a gateway to the organization's wider offerings. Jenkins notes that the game strips away the intimidating barriers of traditional bridge while maintaining the core principles of trump management and partnership strategy. For those without a full group, the league continues to offer a 24/7 web-based version featuring an automated robot partner. Players looking to transition into full contract bridge can utilize the league’s existing infrastructure, which serves 145,000 members across 3,000 clubs globally.
