Four Seasons to Build Cliffside Luxury Resort in Tangier
Perched on the dramatic cliffs of Cap Malabata where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic, a new Four Seasons resort will soon anchor Tangier’s northern coastline. The project, backed by GFH Bank, aims to blend the brand’s signature hospitality with the region’s distinct cultural heritage and panoramic views of the Spanish coast.

The upcoming property will feature 99 guest rooms and suites, including 27 standalone villas, spread across a site that offers over 260 metres of waterfront. Designed by the architecture firm Arjitec with interiors by Goddard Littlefair, the resort serves as the fourth Four Seasons location in Morocco, joining existing properties in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat.
Ricardo Suarez, Group Head of Development at Four Seasons, noted that the site was chosen for its rare ability to connect two continents and cultures. For guests, the resort will provide four signature dining venues, a full-service spa, and the brand’s proprietary children’s programming. The development is located roughly 15 minutes from the city’s high-speed rail terminal and 45 minutes from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport.
Royal Resort Cap Malabata, the developer behind the masterplan, views this partnership as a catalyst for local economic growth. Abdulwahed Al Kooheji, CEO of the development group, emphasized that the project is intended to solidify Tangier’s status as a premier international destination for luxury travelers. Beyond the hotel, the broader Cap Malabata masterplan spans 1.1 million square metres and is slated to include residential units, sports infrastructure, and convention facilities.
