J.D. Mowery Joins Argonaut Manufacturing Services Board
J.D. Mowery, a seasoned veteran of global biopharmaceutical manufacturing, has joined the board of directors at Argonaut Manufacturing Services. His appointment follows a targeted recruitment effort by CollectiveMinds LLC, which sought an independent director capable of guiding the contract manufacturer through its next phase of commercial growth and operational scaling.
The search process, conducted in partnership with Telegraph Hill Partners, focused on securing leadership with a dual perspective on both drug development and large-scale CDMO operations. Mowery arrives at the California-based company with over two decades of experience, having previously served as President of the global CDMO division at Bora Pharmaceuticals and as CEO of KBI Biopharma. His background also includes significant operational tenures at industry giants such as Lonza, Juno Therapeutics, and AGC Biologics.
According to Tara Kochis, CEO of CollectiveMinds, Mowery’s familiarity with Argonaut’s strategic landscape made him a standout candidate. His expertise in navigating the transition from clinical development to commercial-scale production aligns with Argonaut’s core business of sterile fill-finish services for injectable biologics. Beyond this new board seat, Mowery maintains an active advisory portfolio spanning artificial intelligence, automation, and life sciences infrastructure, positioning him to support Argonaut’s commitment to regulatory standards like EU Annex 1.
