Israel Extends Gaza Military Tactics to West Bank Operations
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the military is applying lessons learned from the bombardment of Gaza to current operations in the West Bank. As the IDF launches the "Iron Wall" offensive in Jenin, humanitarian organizations warn the strategy is inflicting severe civilian harm and deepening the region's displacement crisis.

The "Iron Wall" operation, which began Tuesday just days after a Gaza cease-fire, has left at least 12 Palestinians dead and 40 injured. Local officials and medical personnel report that military bulldozers have systematically destroyed access roads to both the Jenin refugee camp and nearby hospitals, effectively isolating residents. The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) noted that this escalation is accompanied by a surge in settler violence, with masked individuals setting fire to homes and vehicles in towns across the territory.
Angelita Caredda, NRC’s regional director, described the pattern of force as indiscriminate and disproportionate, warning that the military’s reliance on checkpoints and physical barriers is fragmenting communities and preventing humanitarian aid. According to UNRWA, the camp has been rendered nearly uninhabitable, with an estimated 2,000 families displaced from the area since December. While the government frames the raids as a necessary measure to prevent terrorist fronts, human rights groups argue the tactics mirror the destruction seen in Gaza, citing a record 1,768 structural demolitions in 2024 alone.
