The newly established Task Force on Exchange of Scenario-Relevant Information (TF-ESRI) operates under the UN’s GRVA/WP.29 framework. Co-chaired by France and China, the body seeks to bridge the gap between regulators, technical experts, and manufacturers. XPENG will coordinate administrative efforts alongside SAE International, ensuring that diverse regional data—ranging from incident reports to varied traffic patterns—is effectively synthesized for global safety standards.

This appointment underscores a shift toward collaborative oversight as regulations like UN R185 and GTR26 enter the implementation phase. By facilitating the exchange of operational experience, the task force aims to prepare developers and approval authorities for the complexities of cross-market autonomous mobility. The initiative is backed by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, reflecting a broader push to align intelligent vehicle technologies through shared knowledge rather than isolated regional testing.
