Greenberg Traurig Claims IFLR Impact Deal of the Year in Dubai

The Dubai-based capital markets team at Greenberg Traurig secured the Impact Deal of the Year at the 2026 IFLR Middle East Awards, held October 8 at the Address Sky View Hotel. The firm earned the accolade for its advisory role on the US$1.5 billion Sukuk programme executed by Binghatti.

The winning transaction was managed by a team led by shareholder Alex Roussos, alongside senior associate James Osun-Sanmi, practice group attorney Katie Phillips, and paralegal Oshin Maheshwari. Beyond the top award, the firm received nominations in several categories, including Debt & Equity-Linked Deal of the Year for the Kuwait Finance House AT1 Mudaraba Sukuk and recognition as Pro Bono Firm of the Year.

Khalid A. Al-Thebity, the firm's Middle East regional chair, noted that the win highlights a blend of local market insight and international standards within the regional Islamic finance sector. Since entering the Middle East market in 2023, Greenberg Traurig has expanded its footprint with offices in Riyadh, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. The firm currently employs approximately 3,200 lawyers globally, focusing on complex mandates ranging from real estate and infrastructure to private credit and capital markets.
