Tenuta Luce Wraps 2026 Harvest After Favorable Montalcino Season

With the final clusters of Cabernet Sauvignon gathered from the Campolungo vineyard on October 5, Tenuta Luce has officially concluded its 2026 harvest. The season, defined by a wet start and a warm, dry summer, challenged viticulturists to calibrate picking times to the distinct ripening profiles of each plot.

The growing cycle began with a cool, rainy winter and spring, which replenished essential soil water reserves and spurred an early onset of vine activity. According to Technical Director Alessandro Marini, this early momentum required constant monitoring as summer heat intensified. The team managed the vineyards through targeted interventions, ensuring each variety reached peak maturity before harvest began on August 26.

Mid-September proved a turning point, as cooling temperatures and timely rainfall provided the conditions necessary for Sangiovese to achieve structural balance. This vintage saw staggered picking schedules: staff harvested Sangiovese from the Madonnino and Caselli vineyards throughout September, followed by the concluding Cabernet Sauvignon pick in October. Initial cellar tastings suggest the resulting wines possess notable finesse, reflecting the estate's focus on preserving the character of its Val d'Orcia terroir.
