Since its founding in 1975, the National Certification Corporation has issued over 245,100 credentials to healthcare professionals. The latest ABSNC decision validates the rigor of these programs, which cover diverse subspecialties ranging from electronic fetal monitoring to neonatal neuro-intensive care. To maintain this status, the organization must demonstrate ongoing compliance with 18 distinct quality benchmarks, ensuring that the certifications meet or exceed current legal and regulatory requirements.

Robin Bissinger, CEO of the National Certification Corporation, described the designation as the gold standard for credentialing, noting that it reflects a broader commitment to long-term professional competency. Felicia Lembesis, Executive Director of ABSNC, emphasized that the peer-reviewed process serves as a critical quality control measure for the nursing field. As the sole accrediting body dedicated exclusively to nursing certification, ABSNC currently oversees more than 90 programs across 28 professional organizations.
