ACI Prensa Rebrands as EWTN News Español to Unify Global Coverage
After four decades of independent reporting, the Catholic news service ACI Prensa has officially rebranded as EWTN News Español. The transition integrates the historic Peruvian-founded outlet into EWTN’s global digital framework, aiming to provide a modernized, cohesive news experience for millions of Spanish-speaking Catholics across five continents.

Founded in Lima in 1980, the agency joins the unified EWTN News identity while maintaining its editorial commitment to the Church. The move centers on the launch of a new digital hub at EWTNNews.com/es, which streamlines access to reporting from EWTN’s international teams. Juan Andrés Muñoz, Latin America Editor for EWTN News, emphasized that the shift is designed to bolster the outlet's reach and resources without compromising its journalistic legacy.
The rebranding aligns with a broader strategy to tailor digital delivery to specific linguistic audiences. According to Sean Graber, President of Digital for EWTN, the platform is engineered to be more intuitive, allowing for faster dissemination of global Church events—such as synods and papal activities—to Spanish-speaking readers. The launch date coincides with the feast of St. Carlo Acutis, a symbolic nod to the network's mission of utilizing modern digital tools for evangelization.
