CBS ArcSafe Upgrades Remote Switch Kit with Milwaukee Battery Power
Technicians maintaining aging DS-style circuit breakers can now operate equipment from up to 150 feet away, as CBS ArcSafe integrates Milwaukee M18 battery power into its latest RSK-DS10 remote switch kit. The update aims to minimize operator exposure to dangerous arc flash events without requiring equipment modifications.

The updated RSK-DS10 kit is engineered for legacy DS-style low-voltage breakers, including models from Westinghouse, Cutler-Hammer, Square D, and Eaton. By utilizing a magnetic mounting system, the device attaches directly to the breaker face, allowing for rapid installation and removal. This design ensures that facilities can maintain safety protocols without the need for permanent structural changes to their electrical infrastructure.
Beyond the wireless functionality, the system offers flexibility for varying site layouts. While the new wireless configuration provides a 150-foot line-of-sight range, users can still opt for corded versions with 30- or 50-foot operating lengths. The handheld controller remains powered by standard alkaline batteries, keeping the setup straightforward for field teams. All units are manufactured at the company's Denton, Texas, facility, continuing a focus on domestic production for industrial safety equipment.
