The SC153 module targets a growing market shift where smart devices require more than basic connectivity, necessitating real-time interaction and stable, low-latency performance. By supporting 3GPP Release 16, the hardware handles both 5G standalone and non-standalone architectures. It reaches peak downlink speeds of 2.3 Gbps in standalone mode and 2.5 Gbps in EN-DC, providing the throughput needed for high-definition video transmission and industrial data acquisition.

To accommodate diverse physical and software requirements, the module features an LGA package paired with a broad interface set, including MIPI display and camera support, USB 3.1, and flexible Wi-Fi 7 configurations. By integrating the Android operating system, Fibocom offers developers a familiar environment for customization. Edward Ai of Qualcomm Technologies noted that the collaboration focuses on extending advanced platform capabilities to the intelligent edge, while Fibocom’s Thales Zhang emphasized that the module addresses the industry's tightening demand for development efficiency.
