Bluon Launches Asset Manager to Digitally Audit HVAC Equipment

Irvine-based Bluon has unveiled Asset Manager, a digital tool designed to transform static HVAC equipment records into actionable business intelligence. By cross-referencing millions of historical model numbers against a proprietary, verified database, the platform aims to help contractors identify revenue opportunities, warranty statuses, and specific replacement part requirements.

Most HVAC contractors maintain vast archives of equipment data that remain largely dormant, often consisting of little more than model numbers or raw nameplate images. Bluon’s new software parses these records to provide granular technical specifications, including age, refrigerant types, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials. The company claims its dataset covers over 35 million unique model numbers across 270 manufacturers, boasting a 99.9% accuracy rate that distinguishes it from generic, error-prone AI alternatives.

For property managers and contractors, the tool facilitates strategic planning by flagging aging R-22 systems for retrofitting or identifying low-SEER units primed for efficiency upgrades. Integration is handled through existing field service management platforms or via a mobile app that allows technicians to scan equipment nameplates on-site. Peter Capuciati, CEO of Bluon, described the existing customer records held by contractors as a "literal gold mine," suggesting that the ability to instantly unlock equipment context will significantly improve first-time fix rates and service contract profitability.
