Barcelona-based developer DMDE has launched version 4.5.0 Beta of its data recovery suite, bringing refined NTFS processing and native GTK3 support for modern Linux distributions. The latest release introduces a direct integration that allows users to open recovered files or destination folders immediately from the results window. This workflow adjustment eliminates the need for manual previewing, providing an instant verification of data integrity. Beyond interface refinements, the update bolsters NTFS $LogFile processing, expanding the software’s ability to detect and restore recently deleted files that were previously difficult to recover.

Technical improvements extend to the Professional edition, where a critical bug affecting damaged APFS filesystem records has been resolved. Additionally, the developers corrected character escaping errors that previously plagued HTML file lists. Since its inception in 2006 by Dmitry Sidorov, the tool has gained traction for its ability to handle complex file-system architectures, including ext2–4, btrfs, and HFS+. The utility remains available as a portable application across Windows, macOS, and Linux, maintaining a licensing model that allows for the recovery of up to 4,000 files per request in the free edition without requiring a subscription.
