LG and Apple Unveil Co-Developed Smart Home Accessory Lineup
LG Electronics and Apple have partnered to launch a collection of seven integrated smart home devices, ranging from security cameras to climate controls. Designed for the Apple Home ecosystem, the products mark a shift toward collaborative hardware development intended to reduce manual home management and ensure end-to-end encrypted privacy.

The collaboration introduces a suite of devices including indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, a thermostat, and a remote temperature sensor. Unlike standard third-party hardware, these accessories were engineered jointly from the planning stage to ensure deep integration with Apple’s platform. Users can coordinate these devices through the Home app or Siri, allowing for automated routines like simultaneously adjusting temperatures and adjusting camera angles.
The hardware features include a 2.5K resolution video doorbell with dual-camera coverage and a smart lock supporting Ultra-Wideband technology for hands-free entry via iPhone or Apple Watch. The thermostat system utilizes Matter over Thread for low-latency connectivity and integrates with Apple's Clean Energy Guidance to optimize power usage based on grid intensity. Starting in December, the full lineup will roll out in the United States and Canada, while the United Kingdom will receive the camera and doorbell models. LG emphasized that all data remains protected through end-to-end encryption, ensuring that recorded footage and personal information remain inaccessible to both manufacturers.
