The award highlights the bank’s two-decade track record of providing financial support, specialized banking products, and volunteer initiatives for active-duty personnel and veterans. A central component of this outreach is the Stars & Stripes Employee Resource Group, a collective of nearly 70 employees focused on mentorship and community engagement. Beyond internal programs, the bank launched the Armed Forces Checking account, tailored specifically to the financial needs of service members and their families.

Financial contributions remain a cornerstone of the bank's strategy, including a $50,000 donation in 2026 to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. Employees supplement these funds with hands-on volunteerism, participating in events ranging from Wreaths Across America to military food shares and baby showers for families of service members. CEO Chris McComish attributed the continued success to the bank’s people-forward culture, while Chief Human Resources Officer Susie Nicholson noted that the initiative draws heavily on the leadership and experiences of the bank’s own veteran and military-connected staff.
