GreenCore Solutions Launches GTIN Resolver for AI-Driven Grocery Trade

With two trillion dollars in annual grocery procurement shifting toward autonomous systems, Vancouver-based GreenCore Solutions has debuted gtinfetch.ai. The platform serves as a verification layer for AI agents, allowing them to confirm product identities via barcode before executing transactions across 20 countries using the Model Context Protocol.

The tool provides access to a database of 84 million barcodes, functioning as a 'Know Your Transactions' (KYT) protocol. By integrating directly into the Model Context Protocol (MCP) on Microsoft Azure and Cloudflare, the service ensures that buying, listing, and paying agents operate on a unified product identity. This verification occurs in milliseconds, preventing the procurement drift that can occur when AI agents operate without validated product data.

Transactions finalized through the platform leverage the x402 standard, utilizing USDC and Open USD. This allows an agent to verify a product, calculate the owed amount, and execute the payment within a single call. According to CEO Matthew Keddy, the system addresses the critical gap between barcode scanning and order fulfillment. Board Director Julia Turley, formerly of Walmart, noted that while the speed of purchasing decisions is accelerating, the fundamental requirement to confirm product identity remains constant. The service is currently available via the Official MCP Registry and Microsoft Azure API Center, supporting major frameworks from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
