Fairphone Launches Fairbuds 2 With Enhanced Repairability
Fairphone is expanding its commitment to modular electronics with the Fairbuds 2, a redesigned set of earbuds that prioritizes longevity and user-serviceability. Available now across the UK and Europe for £99 or €119, the device arrives in the US market on November 2nd with a retail price of $119.

The company overhauled the hardware, shifting to a stemmed aesthetic available in black or green. Despite shrinking the charging case by 37 percent, engineers nearly doubled the battery capacity to 40 hours total playback. Users can expect eight hours of listening time on a single charge, which dips to six hours when active noise cancellation is engaged. While the omission of Qi wireless charging may disappoint some, the earbuds compensate with USB-C connectivity and a focus on internal access.
Audio performance receives a boost through new 11mm bio-cellulose dynamic drivers and support for the LDAC codec. Connectivity is more versatile than the previous generation, featuring multipoint pairing for two devices simultaneously and a five-band equalizer accessible via the companion app. The signature repairability remains intact, centered on a removable silicone sleeve that grants access to the internal components. These buds offer a functional, reliable alternative for consumers seeking a sustainable path in the crowded personal audio market.
