VELUX Launches Mobile Skylight Tour in Custom Tiny Home

A 340-square-foot tiny home is hitting the road to demonstrate how daylighting can overhaul residential interiors. Designed by Emily Henderson and built by Tiny House Basics, the mobile unit serves as a traveling showroom intended to prove that natural light and ventilation are accessible regardless of a home's total square footage.

The tour marks a significant shift in how VELUX approaches consumer education, moving from static displays to an immersive, room-by-room experience. By placing functional skylights into a compact living space, the company aims to address common design pain points, such as limited wall space, poor ventilation, and the need for privacy.

Inside the unit, visitors can observe how different systems impact specific living areas. The kitchen installation highlights passive ventilation for heat and odor removal, while the bedroom setup focuses on the relationship between natural light cycles and sleep quality. Sun Tunnels are also integrated to demonstrate illumination in windowless bathroom environments.

Public demonstrations begin at the Fresno Fall Home Show + Tiny House Expo in California, running from November 6 to 8. Subsequent stops will be updated through the company's social media channels as the tour expands across the United States. This initiative follows the company's recent opening of its first permanent North American Experience Center.
