Bulgin Adds Hybrid Capability to 6000 Series Buccaneer Connectors
Engineers at Cambridge-based Bulgin have integrated power and signal connectivity into a single, compact interface within their 6000 Series Buccaneer line. Designed for space-constrained environments, the new connectors consolidate cabling requirements while maintaining the high-performance, environmentally sealed standards of the existing circular connector range.
The updated 6000 Series features two central power contacts rated at 16 A, paired with a choice of two, four, or six signal contacts rated at 3 A. By merging these channels into one housing, the design streamlines routing in applications such as industrial control systems and precision test equipment. Mark Berry, VP of Product & Portfolio Management at Infinite Electronics, noted that the development responds to the industry's push for smaller footprints that do not sacrifice durability.
Retaining the signature 30-degree push/pull locking mechanism, the connectors are IP68-rated. Rigorous testing included a two-week submersion at a depth of 10 meters, alongside evaluations for salt mist, dust, and thermal resistance. The product line will be showcased at the upcoming electronica trade fair, held November 10-13, where the team will display the units alongside broader solutions for automation and energy sectors at booth 241 in Hall A3.
