ATS Energy Secures Funding to Scale Waste-Heat Power Technology

With industrial waste heat often vanishing into the atmosphere, Colorado-based ATS Energy is turning that inefficiency into a commodity. The Earthshot Prize winner announced a new financing round today, signaling a definitive shift from laboratory breakthrough to full-scale commercial production of its turbine-free power generators by 2027.

The company, headquartered in Loveland, is channeling the fresh capital into its proprietary thermoelectric cartridges. These components form the heart of the firm's Solid-State Generators, which bypass traditional moving parts to convert thermal energy directly into electricity. CEO Doug Hudson noted that the business has moved past early-stage interest, citing a growing pipeline of commercial commitments across energy-intensive sectors that necessitated an accelerated production timeline.

To maintain capital efficiency, ATS is eschewing the construction of its own factories. Instead, the firm is utilizing specialized contract-manufacturing partners to handle production volume, allowing leadership to focus resources on product development and customer delivery. This operational pivot is bolstered by recent executive additions, including Chief Technology Officer Edward Ganja, who is tasked with guiding the transition to repeatable, commercial-grade manufacturing. As the company moves toward its 2027 deployment target, it aims to establish waste-heat recovery as a standard, reliable source of on-site industrial power.
