Nvidia Becomes First Company to Reach $5 Trillion Valuation
Nvidia cemented its position as the world's most valuable enterprise on Wednesday morning, as shares climbed 5 percent to cross the $5 trillion market capitalization threshold. The surge follows a rapid ascent that saw the chipmaker break the $4 trillion barrier only last July, outpacing tech rivals Apple and Microsoft.

The latest rally was fueled by a strategic move into telecommunications, specifically a $1 billion share purchase in Nokia. This partnership targets the development of AI-native 5G-Advanced and 6G networks, signaling Nvidia's intent to extend its influence beyond data centers and into cellular infrastructure. The company’s market dominance remains bolstered by its Blackwell AI architecture, which continues to drive demand despite international trade friction.
Political developments also provided momentum for the stock. President Donald Trump indicated on Tuesday that he intends to negotiate with Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding current export controls on Blackwell chips. Investors responded to the prospect of eased trade restrictions, lifting the stock price past $211 per share. Nvidia now sits at the top of the market hierarchy, leading a sector that includes Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta.
