Caladan Secures Cayman Islands Regulatory Foothold
Caladan has officially registered its subsidiary, CLDN Cayman Ltd, with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Effective October 7, the move grants the firm a regulatory foothold under the Securities Investment Business Act, signaling a strategic pivot toward institutional derivatives and the emerging market for tokenized real-world assets.

The registration serves as a foundational step for the Singapore-based proprietary trading group as it seeks to scale its derivatives business. According to President Julia Zhou, the firm is positioning itself to capture demand as traditional financial assets increasingly migrate on-chain. By aligning with Cayman regulatory standards, Caladan intends to expand its liquidity provision and market-making capabilities for professional counterparties.
The firm maintains a strict focus on institutional and accredited investors, explicitly excluding retail participation. Future operations remain subject to local legal frameworks and the specific licensing requirements governing the scope of CLDN Cayman Ltd. Since its inception in 2017, the group has operated across both centralized and decentralized digital asset markets, utilizing quantitative trading strategies to provide deeper market liquidity.
