Ericsson Overhauls Executive Team and Consolidates Asia-Pacific Operations
Ericsson is consolidating its Asian market presence into a single regional powerhouse while restructuring its enterprise wireless division. Starting January 1, 2027, the company will merge its North East Asia and South East Asia divisions into a unified Asia-Pacific market area led by current EMEA head Patrick Johansson.

The reorganization aims to streamline R&D and improve cost efficiency by reducing the complexity of the current group structure. CEO Per Narvinger noted that a leaner executive team will enable faster decision-making, allowing the firm to respond more nimbly to dynamic market demands. Patrick Johansson, who brings significant experience from his tenure in the EMEA region, will oversee the new APAC unit.
As part of the shift, the Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions (BEWS) will be dismantled, with its portfolio redistributed across other segments to foster better synergy. Neutral Host solutions and private 5G technology will move to the Networks division, while Wireless WAN solutions will report directly to the head of the Americas market area. These changes will result in the departure of three senior executives—Åsa Tamsons, Chafic Nassif, and Andres Vicente—who will transition out of their roles on December 31, 2026, after supporting the integration process.
