The exhibition brings artifacts from the Neolithic Shangshan site in Zhejiang province to Zimbabwe, marking a significant effort to share early agricultural history. Zimbabwe’s Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Tsitsi Gezi, and Minister-Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, Tang Xiaoping, attended the opening to emphasize the partnership between the Jinhua municipal government and local cultural institutions.

Organizers structured the display into three primary narratives: the origins of rice farming evidenced by carbonized grains, the development of early astronomical tracking through red-painted pottery, and the evolution of social structures within moat-enclosed stilt villages. Beyond the historical artifacts, the event features interactive sessions such as traditional Luban lock puzzles, tea tasting, and displays of Wuzhou kiln porcelain and Dongyang wood carvings. By connecting these ancient technological advancements with the heritage of southern Africa, the exhibition seeks to highlight shared experiences in early settled village life.
