miniMonster Automation Brings CNC Machinery to Life via Augmented Reality

Machinists can now visualize full-scale CNC equipment inside their own workshops before committing to a purchase. By partnering with Shivoo Studios, Canadian manufacturer miniMonster Automation has launched an augmented reality experience that allows buyers to place 3D models of their machinery directly into their existing floor plans.

The digital interface bridges the gap left by traditional spec sheets and 2D videos, which often fail to convey how a machine will physically fit or function in a specific environment. Using supported iPhone and Android devices, customers can now map out the footprint of the lemontart 33metal and lemontart 24pico models, ensuring operating clearances are met before equipment arrives on-site.

Beyond spatial planning, the tool allows users to inspect internal components such as C5 precision-ground ballscrews and high-preload linear guide rails. Prospective buyers can also experiment with modular configurations, including automatic tool changers and fourth-axis rotary attachments. According to miniMonster CEO Terence Kreuger, the goal is to provide a tactile understanding of complex hardware remotely. Shivoo Studios CEO Sterling Youngman noted that viewing equipment at a 1:1 scale fundamentally alters the evaluation process, moving past static imagery into a functional, real-world simulation.
