Lenovo and HKC Monitors Secure New TÜV Rheinland Gaming Certification

Twenty gaming monitors from Lenovo’s Legion series and HKC’s ANTGAMER brand have become the first to earn the TÜV Rheinland Native Gaming Performance Certification. This new benchmark moves beyond raw specifications, using human-factor testing to ensure that advertised refresh rates and response times translate into actual, stable gameplay clarity.

The certification framework, introduced at ChinaJoy in July 2026, addresses a growing industry issue where overclocked displays often fail to maintain visual stability during intense use. By mandating a "same mode, full-system testing" principle, TÜV Rheinland excludes overclocking from its evaluations. Instead, it assigns a Gaming Performance Index (GPI) based on fourteen indicators across motion performance, image quality, and visual comfort. The process incorporates dynamic visual acuity assessments and eye-tracking analysis to quantify the subjective experience of gamers.

Lenovo saw 16 of its Legion monitors achieve ratings between three and five stars, covering everything from entry-level gear to flagship models like the Legion Pro 32UD-10. Meanwhile, four models from the Shenzhen-based brand ANTGAMER—the ANT25ASF, ANT255TQ, ANT275TQ, and ANT272TUE—secured the top-tier five-star rating. Jay Yang, a Global Senior Vice President at TÜV Rheinland, noted that the initiative aims to shift industry competition away from marketing-driven metrics toward performance validated by real-world usage scenarios.
