Amazon expands AI wearable line with Bee Frontier and Eclipse
Amazon is deepening its push into ambient computing with two new Bee AI devices designed to capture and process daily conversations. By pairing hardware capable of constant audio monitoring with a new subscription service, the e-commerce giant aims to turn spoken exchanges into actionable to-dos and shopping prompts.

The $74.99 Bee Frontier, available now, updates the original wearable with a refined design, IP67 water resistance, and a seven-day battery. It functions as a wristband or clip-on pin. The upcoming $99.99 Bee Eclipse offers a credit-card form factor that attaches to smartphones, boasting a 21-day battery life for more intensive professional use. Both gadgets record conversations to generate transcripts and summaries, competing with established AI note-takers like Plaud NotePin.
While basic features remain free, the $11.99-a-month Bee Pro subscription unlocks advanced capabilities, including a desktop app, third-party integrations, and integration with Amazon’s own shopping ecosystem. Once users opt in, the AI can suggest products based on spoken requests—such as displaying cat litter on an Amazon homepage after a user mentions needing it. To address surveillance concerns, Amazon emphasizes that the devices utilize a Private Compute architecture to encrypt data, asserting that audio recordings are not stored and recording stops automatically during silence.
