The powertrain, a 2.5L turbocharged I4 hybrid, delivers 329 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque. Judges highlighted the system's ability to maintain a fully mechanical all-wheel-drive setup alongside hybrid benefits, including a projected highway fuel economy of 30+ mpg and a total driving range estimated at 619 miles. The vehicle also manages a 4,000-pound towing capacity, catering to users who require utility without sacrificing electrified performance.

Robin Warner, a program manager and judge at WardsAuto, noted that the engineering effort successfully delivers a quiet, smooth ride while retaining the traction capabilities necessary for slippery surfaces. To enhance the user experience, Hyundai introduced a new Stay Mode, which allows occupants to utilize infotainment and HVAC systems while the vehicle is parked without draining the main battery. This win underscores Hyundai's broader push to refine its flagship SUV lineup through advanced propulsion technology.
