YouTube implements 24-hour security lock for compromised accounts
YouTube is rolling out a mandatory 24-hour security pause for channels showing signs of suspicious activity. This automated measure freezes core account functions—such as video uploads, livestreaming, and playlist modifications—to prevent malicious actors from causing permanent damage while the platform verifies the account holder's identity.

The restriction triggers automatically upon the detection of unusual behavior, effectively neutralizing a hacker's ability to manipulate content or push unauthorized updates. During this window, creators are unable to alter thumbnails, adjust privacy settings, or broadcast live content. Full access returns only after the user proves their identity and secures the account. This system prioritizes containment, ensuring that compromised channels remain static until the threat is mitigated.
